Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was only five, she moved to Oxfordshire and attended the Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma knew that she wanted to be an actress and for a number of years she was a student at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught dance and acting. As a ten year old Emma took part in numerous Stagecoach productions and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the film version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel was cast for the first time in 1999. Agents for casting found Emma by way of her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, as well as Ron Weasley told Emma after seven auditions that she'd been picked for the role. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut on the big screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. The film set records with regards to the opening weekend and revenue, making it the top-grossing 2001 film. Many critics have praised the film and performances of its three major young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British publication, gave Emma high marks for her exceptional performance. Emma's performance won her a nomination and received five awards in the film.
